About the Principal

Lisa is a client-focused senior corporate and commercial Legal Practitioner and Chartered Governance Professional with considerable experience in private practice and in-house environments.  She has strong interpersonal skills and is adept at managing timeframes, budgets and team members effectively to ensure that engagements can be handled effectively, with a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail. Lisa frequently works on complex and sensitive matters which involve liaison with senior stakeholders from various disciplines, including executives and board members.

 

As a value proposition, Lisa provides timely and fit-for purpose advice across the areas of legal, risk and governance. This includes advising on transactions, drafting and negotiating contracts and advising on best practice for corporate governance, intellectual property rights, legislative interpretation, industry regulation and dispute resolution.

Over the last decade or so, the legal industry and the delivery of commercial law services have experienced a period of intense change. While this has led to innovation in the form and content of legal services, it has also led to an increase in uncertainty in relation to the quality and content of legal services which are available and ultimately provided.

Lisa Kavanagh Legal Services would like to submit a proposal for providing commercial legal services to you. It would be a delight to discuss your legal services requirements with you and how to best leverage expertise and experience to support your needs.

The ability to work together with you on a variety of legal matters means fast turn-around times and access to a rich body of experience and skills across legal and commercial disciplines.

Depending on your requirements, available services range from document drafting and negotiation, transactions advice and management, legislative interpretation and advice or any other form of commercial legal, I have it covered. Services can also be tailored to suit your needs as informed by deep industry knowledge and experience across the full spectrum of law firms and within a multi-disciplinary auditing and accounting firm.

The Approach

Lisa Kavanagh Legal Services is available to respond directly to service requests and, as required, to manage suppliers of related services and relationships (e.g. with accounting, tax and finance professionals).

Resourcing will generally be via an ‘hours spent’ and cost and materials retainer arrangement in accordance with the regulatory requirements of NSW legal practitioners. This includes entering into a Costs and Disclosure Agreement. Depending on your needs, billing would usually be on a monthly basis or at completion of specified service delivery milestones. 

 

Quality service delivery will be ensured by ensuring that the following matters are addressed at all times:

 

WORK ALLOCATION – The Principal will work on your account.  However, based on your requirements, additional staff may be required to assist with service delivery.  In that case, the Principal will manage work flow and resource allocation, based on each team member’s experience and expertise. The Principal will also oversee all work to ensure strict quality control and the team will have regular meetings and ongoing contact to ensure seamless interaction with you.

 

CONTACT POINT AND RESPONSE TIMES – The Principal will primarily be available during business hours to take calls and arrange meetings with you. Services will generally be unavailable on Saturdays and Sundays subject only to extreme circumstances and by prior, advance agreement only. Given her high level commercial experience, it is expected that the Principal will be the most significant resource for you. The Principal will also be available to take urgent calls at any time.

 

MEETINGS / TRAVEL – The Principal is available to attend meetings in person and travel to premises, if required and subject to agreed cost arrangements.

 

REPORTING – The Principal is committed to transparency and rigour in management of your account and the following matters will be included in service delivery as appropriate:

 

  • The Principal to confirm expectations, the scope of the services required, and timeframes involved.

  • Phone meetings with you to discuss current work, upcoming projects, as well as issues, constraints and opportunities.

  • Face to face meetings with you to discuss legal services provision and strategic direction for service delivery.

  • Attendance in person and at your premises as required, subject to agreed cost arrangements.
